How It Started: The Joy Craft Cocoa Story
Starting As A Quiet Ritual
A warm mug. Soft marshmallows. A pause that restored more than energy. Hot chocolate has always been Chef Farrell’s constant.
As a culinary student balancing motherhood with school, hot cocoa became a much needed quiet ritual for Chef Farrell. With two young children and a full-time schedule, those five minutes on the edge of the bed, cocoa in hand, held deep meaning during those hectic days. That moment of serenity never left her — and now she invites hot cocoa lovers everywhere to take that same peaceful moment for themselves.
From Curiosity to Craft: Starting Her Woman-Owned Enterprise
As her palate developed over the years, store-bought mixes no longer delivered the depth she craved. Every pre-made mix was loaded with flat flavors, thin textures, and no soul. So Chef Farrell, already an experienced entrepreneur as the former owner of Olivia Rose Bakery, started experimenting.
First came Chef Farrell’s Marshmallow of the Month Club in 2019. Her handmade artisan marshmallows remain a hit to this day. But she found her true calling when she realized what she could deliver with hot cocoa mix.
She began testing cocoa varieties, adjusting sugar ratios, and refining her technique until every cup had the right balance of sweetness. Today, Chef Farrell’s dream has come true in Joy Craft Cocoa’s unique collection of hot cocoa mixes.
All products are hand crafted with simple, clean ingredients and the difference is undeniable. You won’t find any artificial flavors or syrups. Only velvety, vegan-friendly and gluten-free cocoa blended with whole spices. When you enjoy Joy Craft Cocoa, every cup feels personal, just as Chef Farrell intended.
