Hibiscus Marshmallows for a Bittersweet May

May 2020’s flavor was Hibiscus—floral, slightly tart, and beautifully pink. It was also the first Mother's Day I celebrated without my own mother, and maybe that’s why this wasn’t my favorite flavor. But even so, this box became something more than marshmallows. It became a love letter.

Each Marshmallow of the Month Club box felt like a hug, not just from me but from the spirit of creativity and comfort I inherited from my mom. It reminded me that even when grief lingers, sweetness can still bloom.

🌸 S’mores with a Floral Twist

These hibiscus marshmallows paired surprisingly well with dark chocolate and our signature housemade graham crackers—available in both regular and gluten-free. For a delicate and elegant s’more:

1. Toast your hibiscus marshmallow until soft and caramelized.

2. Layer it with dark chocolate or white chocolate on your graham cracker.

3. Sip some hibiscus tea on the side, and enjoy a moment of calm.

Subscribers could still choose tea, coffee, or cocoa to complete their box.

🎁 Box Design: A Work of Art, Inside and Out

This month, we debuted a whole new box design! Each one was shaped like a s’more, complete with scalloped edges (like our grahams), a strip of chocolate “drip,” and a diamond-embossed graham cracker top—all handcrafted with care.

But the true showstopper? A handmade butterfly card with flapping wings. Every single one was cut, folded, and assembled with love. The reaction from subscribers was incredible:

"This subscription box is fantastic. I couldn’t believe the butterfly card in the May box. I had people over for the unboxing and they were blown away."

That comment stays with me. Because more than marshmallows, this box is how I share my art, my heart, and my joy—one handcrafted moment at a time.
